Food – Body - Mind. These are the three strategic pillars behind Jenny Craig’s weight management initiative, launched in 1983, to help an ever-growing number of people who are “fed up with fat”.

In over 600 Jenny Craig centers in North America and Australasia, some 6000 consultants in food awareness, physical activity and mind balance offer personal solutions. They help define goals for weight loss, and set up individual programs of food portion control and physical activity.
Too many diets fail because the goals are unrealistic or the means unsustainable. So, importantly, Jenny Craig’s programs target a realistic calorie intake and output. A weekly follow-up assesses progress and gives the encouragement every client needs to make the lifestyle change that will make the difference in his or her life, and to assure them that their progress is measurable and in line with goals.
As an integral part of the service, Jenny Craig’s dieticians and chefs offer their clients a range of food products, complete meals and snacks with great taste, and controlled portion sizes to give a predefined number of calories per serving. And they provide detailed advice on what foods to choose when dining out.
Today, Jenny Craig can claim 600 000 active clients who attend their centers for 12 weeks on average, with a mean weight loss of 8% after 3 months and 15% after 12 months. A friendly environment, with personal coaching in food, nutrition and health, in physical activity and in mindset, helps clients change their lifestyles in the drive against excess weight. This is aligned with Nestlé’s own goals of consumer health, wellness and wellbeing.
